Life of the sculptor Antonio Jesús Dubé Herdugo Antonio Jesús was born in Seville on the 30th of March 1976 into a family of various generations of artists. This characteristic would definitely mark his calling into the world of Art and more specifically into the world of Sculpting. In his childhood this calling would be seen in his ease for drawing and his surprising handling of materials like modelling clay and clay, demonstrated in school works. In his adolescence he would collaborate with his father, the sculptor Antonio Joaquín Dubé de Luque, who created sculptures for multiple religious brotherhoods in the entire Spanish geography. This artistic link between father and son lasts until today. At the age of 19, Antonio Jesús starts to study at the Faculty of Art of the University of Seville, where he obtains his master degree five years later, developing in the speciality of Sculpturing. During his studies he develops an ever-growing interest for the most classic and figurative forms of representation of the human body, as well as the various elements that compose it. He combined his studies with his first sculptures for several religious brotherhoods. Nowadays the artistic investigation goes on, in function of various orders from religious brotherhoods and associations, but also for the production of sculptures for private collections. |
